$5,000 for a Solana Saga crypto phone! The Solana Saga phones flew off the shelves last week, even after a recent price cut due to lackluster sales.
The sudden surge in demand is attributed to the phones coming with a hefty airdrop of 30 million BONK tokens, currently valued higher than the phone itself. This led to a complete sellout by the weekend.
Although the device is still available on platforms like eBay, the price tag has skyrocketed. Over the weekend, more than 20 units were sold for over $2,000.
One Saga phone fetched a whopping $3,320, and two even went for $5,000, marking over 8 times the original asking price of $599.
But that’s not all – more crypto airdrops are in the cards for Solana Saga owners. The soaring demand for the Solana Saga can be attributed to the surge in the price of BONK. Last Friday, BONK hit a new all-time high of $0.00003416, following a remarkable 1,100% increase in 30 days and a staggering 18,000% surge in 50 days.
While the BONK price has since dipped to $0.00002087, the 30 million BONK tokens awarded to new owners are still valued at $630, surpassing the asking price of the Solana Saga.
Meanwhile, other Solana projects are jumping on the airdrop bandwagon for Saga phone owners. The founder of Solend (SLND), a DeFi project, confirmed an airdrop over the weekend on Twitter. Samoyed (SAMO), also a meme coin with a dog theme, made a similar announcement over the weekend.”
